“Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: “Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?” “Twelve,” they replied.” Mark 8:17-19 NIV
The disciples were caught doing one of my favorite pastimes: talking about what they don’t have. A few weeks ago I was calculating, okay let me rephrase that, I was LAMENTING not the 25% loss income due to a couple of clients canceling photoshoots because of the COVID-19.
I remember I was furious. I took shots at their character for not “brave it” and stick to their end of Feb deal. Mind you, both of these clients were out of state and truly I had no idea of their reality... I was only looking at my financial loss.
Do you know what else I failed to remember? The times I didn’t have a job and somehow God provided. The times I literally had NO percentage coming in... and nobody in my family truly felt it.
Jesus invites us to remember today. We have the power to remember the many blessings we’ve received throughout the years. Let us do that.
If I could give you a hug, hi5, or fist bump from here I definitely would. As long as you don't mind a couple typos here and there, you're MOST welcome to check in, drop a comment here and there, and make yourself at home.
