“When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days,” John 11:4-6 NIV
Couple of things: some sicknesses do not end with death, but some others do. That’s not related to faith, but a fact of life. So why believe in God if nature will run is course on us regardless?Because our lives could be used to glorify God and serve as a billboard of God’s goodness and power.
This was the case with Lazarus. That day many men died, not just him. However because he had a relationship with Jesus, this particular death was used to make a comeback story, to make a point, to be made an example.
Much like that, our very lives could be used by God as an example, a hint of his goodness and power. Listen, we really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We are going to go through tribulations anyways, so let’s surrender all of our day to God and allow him to use it for His glory.
