“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”” Mark 11:25 NIV
This short verse presents you and I with the power to forgive others. This power seems irrespective of the recipient. The verse doesn’t qualify those who probably unbeknownst to them are being forgiven nor sets out a protocol to dish out forgiveness. It simply says “forgive them”.
Forgiveness can share spaces with boundaries and in certain cases reconciliation might not be possible or even advised. However forgiveness is always an option. Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting nor this is a prerequisite to sincerely forgive. The text simply asks us to forgive.
As we practice forgiveness a miracle takes place: God also forgives us. In other words we experience freedom. We are the ones who gain the most when we forgive, not the recipient but us. We also are the ones with the most to lose by not forgiving.
Let us give us ourselves the gift of forgiveness. A gift that’s readily available, free shipping, and always a 5 star product.
If I could give you a hug, hi5, or fist bump from here I definitely would. As long as you don't mind a couple typos here and there, you're MOST welcome to check in, drop a comment here and there, and make yourself at home.
