We've been planning this shoot for about 4-5 weeks now and our original date was somewhere around the 1st or 2nd week of March, 2020. Welp, I think we all can guess what happened... COVID-19 + Quarantine + Shelter in Place + Lockdown.
This meant our original plan to go to a park had to be scratched. Same for the beach, or any other public location. Not only this would be in violation of city mandate, but given the fact that Patty is a mere couple of weeks from giving birth we didn't want to gamble catching any viruses out there. The solution? shoot at home!
This was a challenge since as a photographer, I usually use sample images or previous work as a point of reference but in this case a)I've never shot a maternity session at my client's home and b)I couldn't find many/inspiring images of home maternity sessions online. Luckily I had two things going for me: I've known Patty and Victor for almost 10 years since I shot their wedding back in 2010 and my wife Tracy came along and assisted me with details and building up photo chemistry.
Driving in I was thinking we were going to come away with the usual 15-20 images per session, but as I'm working these in Adobe Lightroom I'm already doubling this number and I absolutely love the colors, vibrancy, and vibe of this entire session!
Give me a few days Patty and I'll send you an email with a link to all of your images.
Peace, - arturo

If I could give you a hug, hi5, or fist bump from here I definitely would. As long as you don't mind a couple typos here and there, you're MOST welcome to check in, drop a comment here and there, and make yourself at home.
