“He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?””Mark 8:23 NIV
We all want the miracle, but we want it “a la carte” don’t we? God, give me a long lasting relationship... without the side of having to endure its ups and downs please. God, I’d like financial prosperity... without the side of exercising self-control please. Yes, Lord let us not forget about good health! Without the side of observing how I feed my body please. Well, this blind man probably wanted his sight restored with a few magic words and abracadabra!
As we can see from our text this didn’t go down like that. His sight was restored yes, but after he was taken outside the village and Jesus spit on his eyes. First of all, gross. Second of all the man needed to be taken out of his comfort zone, his village, for the miracle to take place.
Are we willing to do what it takes to receive the miracle we are asking God for? Let us keep trusting our God when he brings the full 5 course menu regardless if it meets our expectations or not.
If I could give you a hug, hi5, or fist bump from here I definitely would. As long as you don't mind a couple typos here and there, you're MOST welcome to check in, drop a comment here and there, and make yourself at home.
