“When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight.” Luke 24:30-31 NIV
Jesus’ identity wasn’t clear these two journeymen while they were walking. It wasn’t clear to them while they were talking either. Jesus became clear to them when they stopped, sat at the table, and ate with Jesus.
There seems to be something special about slowing down, sitting, and sharing nourishment with God. Walking with God is good, conversing with God is good as well, but sitting and eating with God seems to deepen our connection and fully awaken our senses to Him.
It could be just sitting for a few minutes in the AM, taking a moment here or there, but being intentional about pausing yields us a spiritual gain we can’t earn by thinking about God as our day progresses. Let us do that today.
If I could give you a hug, hi5, or fist bump from here I definitely would. As long as you don't mind a couple typos here and there, you're MOST welcome to check in, drop a comment here and there, and make yourself at home.
