“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35 NIV
1 year ago I was prepping for my final interview at the Pentagon for the position of NAVY Chaplain.
I really thought I had the qualifications, motivation, and the moment was the right moment to go for it. Initially I submitted papers for Reserves but a month before going up to the Board we decided to go Active Duty.
Long story short it didn’t work out for me. There were 10 of us who went up to the Board and 7 were selected... and I wasn’t in that group.
To this day I wonder what I could’ve done differently. Should I have gone with my current church denomination (non-denominational) or stick with my SBC endorser. Should I kept my package as Reservist instead of switching it to Active Duty... and the list goes on and on and on.
This one thing I know: God is in control and there’s not ONE way to glorify God. Instead there’s ONE GOD and many ways to flourish and prosper.
God is my sustenance, for bread of life. As a NAVY Chaplain, photographer, father of five, my bread of life is the same: Jesus Christ.
If I could give you a hug, hi5, or fist bump from here I definitely would. As long as you don't mind a couple typos here and there, you're MOST welcome to check in, drop a comment here and there, and make yourself at home.
