““Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”” Luke 22:31-32 NIV
Last night I went to bed thinking about the message I’d like to share with my friends and clients during Chapel and after reading this portion I now know the answer: prayer.
Here we have Jesus telling Peter that he will be tested, sifted, by no other than satan himself... but he has already prayed for him. This last part I personally would have re-written ‘but here are 10 tips on how to withstand XYZ’ or ‘here’s a special power that’d make you XYZ’. Jesus however employs his most powerful weapon again being sifted, prayer.
Last but not least Jesus comes full circle and remind him to come back and strengthen others. In other words as we are healed let us not forget to pass it along and bring support to our brothers and sisters.
If I could give you a hug, hi5, or fist bump from here I definitely would. As long as you don't mind a couple typos here and there, you're MOST welcome to check in, drop a comment here and there, and make yourself at home.
